Creating the projects and writing this book was such a pleasure. It gave me the best reason to lose myself in “my work.” It also allowed me the freedom to create projects and designs that spoke to me, with the hope they speak to you, too.
The projects are outlined as a place to start and then progress in complexity to provide challenges while supporting you for success. The finished pieces are designed to entice and empower you whether metal clay is new to you, if you have tried the material but didn’t find the success you were hoping for, or to call you back to metal clay if you tried it and moved on to other things.

The day starts with blue skies and palm trees (these are in the @starbucks parking lot!).
And I’ll say it again. The people make this trip extra special.
Combing through slabs and cool things at @minnerscoop is also pretty fabulous. Especially with clear skies and sunshine.
While at this very unique event, we met and talked with so many mines and cutters, hearing their stories and learning new-to-me things about rocks - so fascinating!
Slipped in a picture from last night, too. As the after-hours fun is also part of the Tucson experience. Thank you @brendaschweder__found and @shaynajewelry for making the time. And for the laughs!
The saguaro cactus always make my heart skip a beat. They are like the old guard. Sentrys. Gentle giants. And so many other words. You have to experience them in person to feel their energy. There’s nothing like them (for me) except the ocean. But that’s kinda far away from @tucsongemshows.
If you’ve never been - I hope you have the chance to experience some of these things in the future.

we kicked it off with the first day of @agta_gems and @gjxtucson - then we popped over to @pueblogemshow
Long check in lines for AGTA badges but the team worked so efficiently and made short work of check in. So many people! So wonderful.
GJX lines were not as long but the show floor was just as busy. And so many vendors to visit!
Pueblo is a favorite and it was so good to see @fretzwilliam and @aniejooltool (she took the pics today)
More to see and do.
And sunshine and warm temps to enjoy! ☀️
